Crystal Palace Park was laid out in Victorian times. The North Eastern corner simulates a typical English landscape with rolling lawns, flowering shrubs, rhododendrons and lofty trees. These bushes border the concert bowl and remind me of the dens we used to make in the gorse bushes as children on the Isle of Sheppey.
